Twelve Apostles, Great Ocean Road, VIC

Victoria began life as a farming state, booming after gold was discovered there in the 1850s, and now forms the second most populated state in Australia behind New South Wales.

Most residents of Victoria reside in the state capital Melbourne, a popular alternative to Sydney for many visitors. Melbourne is a fantastic metropolitan city, where the European heritage of the region is clearly evident in many aspects of life. There are many Melbourne attractions for all types of visitors, from solo backpackers to families with children. Some of the highlights include Melbourne Zoo, the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the Eureka Tower.

Victoria is a relatively small state, making it easy for visitors to go out and see parts of the state outside of Melbourne, even if they are only visiting for a short time. Other urban centres in Victoria include Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo, while there are also plenty of National Parks and other outdoor attractions such as the Great Ocean Road, Yara Valley and Phillip Island.

Here at Attractions Australia we bring you all the information you need to plan your trip to any of the wonderful attractions Melbourne and the rest of Victoria have to offer.
