Western Australia is the largest of the Australia states, taking up the entire western third of the country, and forming a massive, sparse wilderness. 85% of the population of Western Australia live in the bottom south-west corner of the state, mostly in and around the state capital Perth. Far less touristy than the East Coast, the West Coast offers visitors a beautifully rugged coastline, the Ningaloo Reef off the coast and a fantastic temperate climate which makes it a great destination year-round. Many visitors will enter Western Australia crossing the region known as Australia’s Golden Outback, the vast expanse of land between Adelaide and Perth. Here visitors can experience true Australian adventure, exploring deserted 4x4 tracks and camping out under the stars. The reward at the end of the long trek is arrival in Perth, a laid-back, cosmopolitan with heaps of attractions to entertain visitors. Perth is easily one of Australia’s most beautiful cities, with vast expanses of parkland perfectly contrasting the modern glass and steel skyscrapers in the city centre. Many of the best Perth attractions are of the natural variety, including the Perth Zoo, Aquarium of Western Australia and the Cohunu Koala Park. Those venturing further up the West Coast will find the area to be a great contrast to the resorts on the East Coast, having preserved the natural beauty of the coastline and still enjoying limited development. That is not to say that the West Coast is boring though – there are still plenty of activities on offer all along the coast, with plenty of places to eat and drink and really enjoy your trip. Attractions Australia presents impartial, up-to-date information on all the different Western Australia attractions to help you plan any trip.
